About Active Citizens PODOKKHEP - A Step Ahead
Active Citizens Podokkhep - A Step Ahead is working on community based and planning our Social Action Project (SAP). We have completed our Active Citizens Youth Leadership Training Program which held on 20th October to 23rd October, 2012 at Democracywatch. We formed a group named Podokkhep - A Step Ahead based on our community and planning our Social Action Project (SAP). As our group emphasize on the topic ‘Building Future, Creating Awareness’ our concern is children, education and environment.
About Active Citizens:
Active Citizens brings together networks of people worldwide who have a role in their local community and would like to contribute to community development.
By sharing ideas and experiences with different groups within and outside their community, participants contribute to intercultural dialogue and global citizenship. Participants include youth workers, women's groups, educators, community development professionals, voluntary sector representatives and faith leaders.
Training
Upgrading knowledge of young leaders and volunteers about local community and networks, their understanding of sustainable development (including global interdependency and global citizenship) and effective working with diversity, project planning and implementation skills.
Social Action Projects (SAP)
Participants together plan and implement projects to improve their community. This takes place under the guidance of experienced community mentors.
